Fame is so lucky to have Katie taking on the role of Director of Programming. Katie works professionally as a singer, actor, writer, director and performer. With a Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre) and a Masters of Music (Vocal Pedagogy), she is a passionate and experienced singing and acting teacher. She works most frequently with teenagers and young adults in her role at Fame Theatre Company. In her singing teaching, Katie implements neurodiverse affirming practises and has experience working with gender diverse and fragile voices, as well as assisting with post-injury vocal rehabilitation. Her teaching philosophy is grounded in current scientific understanding of the body. She believes that when a singer can understand their body and voice from the basis of its physiological function, then that creates a wonderful foundation to grow and explore musicality and artistry in a healthy and sustainable way.
Katie’s acting classes are a melting pot of creativity, frivolity and intensity. Pulling from many different acting methods, students get a well-rounded and practical acting education. Katie is impassioned to teach young actors to step out of their ego in order to build realistic and believable connections on stage and in the rehearsal room. They work together throughout the year, to create a safe and motivating space where class members can break out of their comfort zone and become inspired young actors. Their work culminates in a yearly acting recital where they have tackled plays such as The Laramie Project, April’s Fool, Girl Asleep and Ruby Moon.
We are excited to have Katie take the lead Directing our team of talented teachers in 2025.

After initially pursuing a Bachelor of Creative Writing, Jason redirected his focus to performance, earning a Bachelor of Music Theatre from CQUniversity.
Since then, Jason has honed his craft on stages both locally and abroad, performing in intimate productions and large-scale shows.
